We publish essay "Roman impressions" (1904).
We were much better off in modern Rome than those legendary Goths, because we, taught by their example, did not dare to get out of our hut without at least a meager amount of money.

What I have extended and improved the method adopted by Wander is that I systematically give essential or linguistic explanations to each issue, which Wander put only in some places.

Although this collection has reached a respectable number of 31,091 items, it does not exhaust all the proverb material that lives in the mouths of our people, at least only in Galicia itself.

To have as the most authentic material for such a study, I limited myself in this volume as well as in the previous one to the oral material itself, collected from the mouths of the people.
