Put them on a par with Khomyakov Ursyn could only because he identified Moscow slavophilism with the Polish messianism and Gogol's mysticism.

Ukrainians was generally accused as boys of bureaucracy, as an artificial product of Stadion, called for counter-action against patriotic activities of «Rady Narodowej» and People's Guard.

Bar Confederation was designed to not only to raise strength of oscillated Polish supremacy in Ukraine, but also completely destroy dysydentism, that in the first line – Orthodoxy.

The section «Ethnography and folklore» is replenished with article "Hrdlichka and Yurishtan" (1889).
Now we have received from Miss Burachynska from Krivorivnya further interesting note on history Gutsulschina in those times, to wit a song about Yurishtan and Hrdlichka.

The section "History of literature" is replenished with article "Ivan Vyshensky" (1889).
Arguments put forward by him in defense of orthodoxy, were neither new nor depth, sometimes he did not even worked on devising appropriate arguments, but instead throwing in the nation and word.

"Ruthenian-Ukrainian Library" by Olesnytsky who so quickly got myself general liking of the reading public, has begun the new year of existence with book No 13.

We continue to publish Ivan Franko's correspondence. Today –next five letters of 1880.
As for "Faust," I should say only that I gave it to the "Truth" in the wake of extreme poverty, have chosen to the village, and I gave for it 15 rynsky on the road – in gendarme's legs. (After 23 Aug 1880, to M. Pavlik).

Published two reviews of the publication of "Galician-Ruthenian bibliography" (1887).
For the first issue that covers the period from 1801 to 1844, makes it a worthy testimony of the zeal of the author and the value of publication.

We believe all aristocratic races to enter into such "deals of Poles with the Ukrainians", in which the Ukrainians themselves would not be at all, as empty and pointless toy.

What primarily curious in this carol, so this mention of Kiev and St. Sophia in such a remote and provincial areas, where people are now hardly even know about the existence of Kiev.

Our copy of works by Ivan Vyshensky undoubtedly compiled in Galicia, perhaps even in the Manyava cloister, in the foundation of which Ivan himself took a part.

Mr. Luzhnycky decided to surprise Galician world, giving him literally, rather the poor translation of Pushkin, Gogol, Lermontov and Turgenev as his home writers.

The section "Literary criticism" is replenished with a review "Niva", Ukrainian literary collection" (1885).
It is obvious that under such circumstances the censorship, which now has to fight Ukrainian word in Ukraine, there are too often the books out for which they editors can not take full responsibility.
